CPS releases official “Graduation Rate” of 97.8% for Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos Puerto Rican High School!

14191294500_467ee29296_oOur school just received notification from Chicago Public Schools that not only are we a top performing school, but that our official graduation rate was 97.8% for school year 2013-2014! Of course, this is a reflection of all of the hard work of our resilient student body, our exemplary staff and our extraordinary parents and community.

PACHS Senior Mariela Quintana-Lazaro Awarded 1st Prize in Congressional Art Competition!

On Friday, May 2nd, 2014 Congressman Luis Gutierrez office celebrated their annual art competition. During this edition, Mariela Quintana-Lazaro, a senior of Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos High School was awarded first prize with her charcoal drawing titled “Don Joaquin”. Mariela will be awarded with a trip to Washington DC where her artwork will be exhibited for a period of a year at the US Congress. Congratulations Mariela!

The Abayarde News First Edition !!

IMG083We are happy to introduce the FIRST edition of The Abayarde News! We hope that this will be the beginning of a long legacy of school-wide newspapers to help students and staff stay informed of all the exciting school-wide activities taking place throughout the halls of Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos Puerto Rican High School as well as our community. Here, we hope to provide a space for students (and staff) to share their voice, their art, and their culture with the rest of the high school community while reporting on student-sports, current events, and activities.
